The team formed to probe minors deaths due to unhygienic food
The demise of two minors, allegedly due to food poisoning, has caused the Sindh police to form an investigation team, under SSP Pir Muhammad Shan. It has begun to look into this grave matter. The board is required to hand out the report within 72 hours.
The deceased, Ahmed, one and a half-year-old, and his brother, Muhammad, five years old, resided in Creek Vista. As per the account, on 11th November, the family had dined at a renowned eatery, located in Zamzama area. Afterward, they went to an amusement center where they had a bunch of sweets.
According to the Karachi Police Chief Amir Sheikh, both the mother and her kids got sick at around 6:00 in the morning but were taken to the hospital in the afternoon. The doctors at the private hospital declared that the boys had died, while their mother, Ayesha is still hospitalized.
The police carried out further investigations and sent the barf samples of the two minors to the laboratory. The authorities also got their hands on the CCTV footage to determine what the kids had actually eaten.
The restaurant has been sealed and the officials have almost three years old meat from its storage.
The case has been registered on Wednesday under Section 322 and 272 (adulteration of food or drink intended for sale) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
The family was dined out at Arizona Grill restaurant and eat sweets from a shop outside an amusement park.
