Miss Kentucky sentenced to 2 years in prison for sending topless photos

A former Miss Kentucky and a former teacher have been sentenced to prison for exchanging sexual photos with a student.

Ramsey Bethann Carpenter-Bearse, 29, received the sentence on Tuesday. The charges stem from when she was a teacher in West Virginia.

She also was sentenced to 10 years of supervised release and must register as a sex offender for life.

Carpenter-Bearse was named Miss Kentucky in 2014 and competed in the 2015 Miss America pageant. She was in the Top 12 as a semifinalist.

After that she became a science teacher at Andrew Jackson Middle School in Cross Lanes, W.Va., according to the U.S. Sun.

She was arrested in December 2018 and charged with sending topless photos of herself to a 15-year-old boy, who was a former student of hers.

According to CBS, she pleaded guilty to one count of possessing material depicting minors in sexually explicit conduct in December 2019.
